Enneagram
Let’s Work Together
Throughout my work as a creative, founder of the online community, Firelight, and a human rights activist, the Enneagram has been an invaluable resource. It has enabled me to create more rich and complex characters as an actor/filmmaker, to become a more effective leader in my community, and a more energized, sustainable activist. My individualized coaching is informed by more than a decade of study, certification through Enneagram University, and experience facilitating group workshops for organizations such as Amnesty International USA, and Echoes of Hope.
I love sharing the life-changing wisdom of the Enneagram with others. Whether you are in the beginning stages of trying to figure out your type, or ready to dive deep into the depths of its heart-and-soul medicine, I would be honored to work with you and support you along your path!

“The universe buries strange jewels deep within us all, and then stands back to see if we can find them.” - Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic
I believe that there are powerful treasures within each of us. When we discover our Enneagram Type — and integrate its wisdom into our daily life — we unearth undiscovered magic, strength, and beauty inside of ourselves, and transform our lives.
This 6-week process of transformation follows a basic framework, with each session tailored specifically to your needs and goals. You will be encouraged to utilize exploratory journal prompts, and (short) assigned readings and embodiment exercises for reflection and integration in between sessions.

What is the Enneagram?
The Enneagram is a system of personality that contains nine distinct “types”. Each of these types are characterized by certain internal fears and desires that motivate external behaviors. While many personality tests categorize individuals by behaviors, the Enneagram is unique in that your type is determined by the motivations that drive your behaviors - not the behaviors themselves.
Early in childhood, we adapt to our environment by behaving in ways that we believe will protect us from pain and rejection, and keep us feeling safe, loved, and connected to our caregivers. Over time, those behaviors can become so deeply embedded that we begin to see them as our “personality” or even simply as who we are. The tragic reality, however, is that most of us have suppressed and become disconnected from the fulness of our authentic selves in order to avoid rejection and pain.
One of the most profound and helpful descriptions of the Enneagram that I have ever encountered comes from Chichi Agorom’s book The Enneagram for Black Liberation. Agorom describes our Enneagram Type as our Armor. “Armor serves primarily to protect us from threats,” she writes, “like the hard shell of a turtle or snail. These animals carry around their protective shells wherever they go, and these shells are useful in keeping them protected from the threats of the world around them. The armor is part of them, but it’s not the entirety of who they are.”
Our Enneagram Type is not the entirety of who we are. But discovering it can help us to become more fully aware of the limiting stories and beliefs we carry about ourselves, and the unconscious behaviors that have caused unintended harm to our relationships, our sense of self-worth, and our ability to show up to our lives as the most alive, authentic, embodied version of ourselves.
Testimonials
I am more than a decade older than Emily, so I was blown away at how she met me where I am. Emily's old soul quality of listening with both her head and her heart makes it easy to open up fully in order to reveal qualities about oneself that are so helpful in the enneagram typing session. I tend to be a person with whom other people share rather than a person who shares with other people, and Emily made me feel so comfortable, warm, safe, and held that it was delightful to share my experiences. It felt a bit like going on a treasure hunt together to identify key personality traits or behaviors that make me who I am. I felt like I met a life-long friend, and I wouldn't be surprised if all her clients feel the same way.

“Emily has the ability to invite warmth, honesty, and acceptance inside her containers. She is incredibly intelligent and compassionate, weaving in and out of the heart and head so effortlessly to create an experience cradled in safety, curiosity, and discovery. She is a talented listener, collecting data, and analyzing that data quickly and intuitively to deliver lightbulb, “aha!” moments to her clients in real-time. But most importantly her energy is grounded and anchored, and this carries over to her clients and the kind of transformation that happens within them. Her clients, past, present and future are so lucky to have an emotional safe haven like her in their corner.”

“Emily has a really lovely and calming presence as she leads an enneagram typing session. Her knowledge seems to be well-researched and based in years of personal study. I went in with only a basic perception of the enneagram, and came out knowing my type, feeling like I understand myself and my motivations a little better, and with a direction for further exploration!”

“I absolutely loved typing my enneagram with Emily! She had me retake the online test beforehand, And I appreciate the research and work she did before our FaceTime session.
She's so knowledgeable! Her PowerPoint presentation was thorough, beautiful, and fun to work through.
It definitely surprised me to learn what type I am. After going through the top three enneagrams I tested for, there was one that stuck out to me the most.
Not only did Emily help me find my main type, but she also helped me find my wings and subtypes! I did not even know wings and subtypes existed before our session, so it was a nice surprise to learn even more about myself.
Emily was such a great listener when I had questions and explained enneagrams so well. I am impressed with her vast knowledge about each type.
I would highly recommend typing your enneagram with Emily.”
