Human Rights Activism

As an artist, leader, and activist, all of my work is rooted in my love for people and my commitment to human rights. Through my filmmaking and folk music, I strive to shed light on human rights abuses—both past and present—with a particular focus on women’s rights and stories of resistance within authoritarian systems.
I believe strongly in the power of storytelling and art to build empathy, connection, and bridge divides between people. Throughout my work as an activist, I have found unique ways to draw from my artistic background to amplify human rights causes and the stories of survivors of injustice. I volunteered at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, where I worked with youth by mentoring them as they created original plays based on survivors' real-life experiences. As a member leader with Amnesty USA, I have brought members of my community together through the power of music and poetry, creating impactful events on behalf of the people of Ukraine and human rights defenders in the U.S. and around the world.
